FOR RESEARCHERS
Elevence AI for Researchers
Web-grounded answers, document analysis, multi-model A/B. The research-AI stack on Elevence.
Applies to web, iOS and Android
Research workflows demand specific things from AI: accurate citations, long-context document analysis, the ability to compare multiple model perspectives on the same question, and a way to keep notes coherent across sessions. Elevence AI provides all of that — web search via Firecrawl, file search across uploaded documents, agents that combine retrieval with synthesis, and the ability to switch between models per query.
If you currently use Perplexity for research and ChatGPT for writing, Elevence is the consolidated workflow: research with web-grounded agents, draft with the best writing model, analyse long documents with Gemini Pro's 1M context — all in one studio.
What researchers struggle with
•
Citations matter — many AI tools confidently hallucinate sources.
•
Long documents (papers, dossiers, legal contracts) don't fit in most model context windows.
•
No good way to compare what GPT, Claude, and Gemini say about the same research question.
•
Notes and sources get lost across tools — Notion + ChatGPT + Perplexity + a spreadsheet of links.
What you can do on Elevence AI
Get web-grounded answers with citations
Configure a research agent with the web-search tool (Firecrawl). Ask any question and the agent retrieves current web pages, synthesises an answer, and returns sources you can verify. Combine with Perplexity Sonar as the underlying model for a search-first experience.
Analyse long documents with 1M-token context
Upload a 500-page PDF and ask Gemini 3 Pro — only model with a 1M-token window — to summarise, cross-reference, or extract specific claims. The full document stays in context, so the model cites accurate page locations rather than hallucinating page numbers.
Get multi-model perspectives on a question
Branch the same question to GPT-5, Claude Opus, and Gemini Pro. Compare their answers side-by-side. The variance often surfaces where each model is confident vs hedging — a useful signal for research methodology.
Build a persistent research knowledge base
Upload your reference papers, notes, and prior findings to a knowledge base. Any agent can search across it during conversation. Your research context persists across sessions — pick up where you left off.

Example prompts
•
"Search the web for recent research on transformer attention efficiency. Summarise the top 5 papers from 2025 with citations."
•
"Analyse this 200-page legal contract: list every clause that involves data processing or third-party sharing."
•
"Compare how GPT-5, Claude Opus and Gemini Pro answer this research question. Show me where they agree and disagree."
•
"Across my uploaded knowledge base of 50 papers, find every reference to 'mixture of experts' and group them by year and finding."
Frequently asked questions
How does citation accuracy work?
When an agent uses the web-search tool (Firecrawl), the URLs of retrieved pages are returned alongside the answer. For document-grounded answers (file search across your knowledge base), the source document and approximate location are included. For pure-LLM answers (no tools), hallucination risk is the same as on the underlying model — verify important claims.
What's the maximum document size I can analyse?
Gemini 3 Pro supports 1 million tokens of input — roughly 750,000 words or 2,500 pages of plain text. For most research documents this is more than enough. For massive corpora, use the file-search / knowledge-base feature to retrieve relevant chunks.
Can I keep my research private?
Yes. Conversations, knowledge bases, and uploaded documents are private to your account. Data is not used for training. You control sharing — threads default to private and only become accessible via explicit share links.
How does Elevence AI compare to Perplexity for research?
Perplexity has more polished citation UX for pure-search workflows. Elevence AI gives you the same Sonar search plus 60+ other models, long-context document analysis (1M tokens via Gemini), knowledge bases, and multi-model comparison — broader workflow surface at the cost of slightly less specialised search UI.
Can I build custom research agents?
Yes. Custom agents combine your choice of model with tools (web search, file search, code execution, knowledge bases) and a persona description. Save them, share them with your team, or call them via API.
